Meet the Founder
KICK Car Care was founded by Jaime, a marine engineer by trade with a career built around vehicles, engineering, logistics, repairs, customers and problem solving.
I’ve seen it all, experienced it all, failed, succeeded and kept going. What matters is finding the right solution and doing the job properly.
MY STORY
Built from experience. Made to do better.
My career started on the water. As a marine engineer and commissioning manager, I worked with Azimut and Jeanneau powerboats on the River Hamble, then moved to Ancasta International commissioning and handing over the Bavaria Motor Boat range. That meant long days, sea trials on Southampton Water, preparing boats for customers and helping organise major boat shows including the London and Southampton International Boat Shows.
I then went out on my own, running a mobile marine engineering business around Poole, repairing and servicing a wide range of boats.
The move into vehicles came with Creditplus, where I joined as Logistics Manager. My job was to grow the car sales and preparation side of the business. I took it from supplying a handful of vehicles per month to around 150 per month. I qualified as a Transport Manager, held the company Operator Licence, ran four multi-car transporters, three workshops and worked with a team of over 100 people.
Later I founded Motura, a premium bodyshop in Ferndown, which grew over eight years and eventually evolved into Tailored Vehicle Solutions — a mix of bodyshop, vehicle preparation and car sales.
So when I say I’ve seen the motor trade from every angle, I mean it.
Lessons learned. Business earned.
We Grew Too Fast
TVS became a big operation, but the overheads grew with it. We focused heavily on volume and scale, while the market was changing around us.
We made mistakes
I made decisions that didn’t work, carried too much cost and trusted the wrong structure for the direction the market was moving in. I own that.
The market changed
Customers wanted more convenience, faster service, clearer pricing and less hassle. The old model had become too heavy for the way people wanted to buy vehicle support.
We closed TVS
It was hard, but it was the right decision. Holding on would have made things worse for customers, staff and everyone involved.
We built KICK
KICK was built from everything I learned — lower overheads, less inconvenience, honest advice, proper equipment and quality mobile vehicle support brought directly to the customer.
Why KICK exists
Workmanship and quality were never the problem.
The problem was the old way of doing things.
